Studied music history with Ted Pease, who is a fantastic encyclopedia of jazz music. Studied everything from Louie Armstrong, though Duke Ellington and Count Basie, on to Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Jaco Pastorius and beyond. I wrote for a 17-piece Berklee Big Band, including writing the conductor's master charts and 17 individual charts for each song, one for each band member for several songs, and worked them up with the band.
